Dates for Health and Beauty

As a Muslim, date fruit (and for the rest of the book we will use "dates" frequently for the sake of efficiency) is very special for me. I don't mean to talk about religion here. I only want to give you a background of how I started to love this fruit. In the month of fasting (Ramadan in Islamic calendar) people love to eat it to break the fasting because it was suggested by our prophet.

Health benefits of dates

Dates are one of the most popular fruits with enormous essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that are required for normal growth, development and overall well-being.

Fresh dates are made of soft, easily digestible flesh with simple sugars like fructose and dextrose that when eaten will replenish energy and revitalize the body. That is why they are used to break the fasting during Ramadan months.

Beside that, this fruit is also rich in dietary fiber, which prevents dietary LDL cholesterol absorption in the gut.  The fiber content helps to protect the colon mucous membrane by decreasing exposure time and as well as binding to cancer causing chemicals in the colon.

There are also some other benefits of dates for health and beauty. For details you can check here
